The idea behind the Grow Skunk website comes from the absolute exponential growth in informational products sold on the web. You know, all those "get rich quick" systems which sell on eBay for 99p a shot? They add up to an industry worth $6 billion globally and that's quite a chunk of change.

Cannabis and the law
So here's the problem. Regardless of the legal standpoint of cannabis in the United Kingdom, or in Holland, France or the United States etc, there are people who exist in the world, who grow and consume cannabis with the blessing of their local government.

Holland
Holland has operated "Liberal" drug policies for over 30 years, and rates constantly in the lowest figures globally when it comes to how many of its citizens use drugs, proving once and for all that liberal drug policies work and work well.

Belgium
Belgium recently announced its citizens could grow one cannabis plant for personal consumption, and be in possession of 3 grams of 'finished' or dried cannabis bud at any time and its a similar story across much of Europe.

United States
In the United States, there are currently 12 states which have made provision for citizens who use cannabis out of medical neccessity and in Oregon alone this equates to over 17,000 individuals according to Oregon Physician Dr Phillip Leveque. In California I suspect there to be many more.

But even though its been written in law these people can use and grow cannabis, still no-one is allowed to assist, as thats against the law, which is a ridiculous predicament to put people in. 

Pensioner struggles with law
I know of a 76-year old woman in the US who grows cannabis for her husband, himself a pensioner and who suffers from crippling artheritis. He's tried all of the recommended medications doctors prescribe for his condition, including steroids, and now suffers from Osteoporosis (brittle bones) for doing so over 20 long years.

Between the two of them they struggle with bags of compost etc because they feel unable to ask anyone to assist, in case word gets out of their horticultural pastimes. They are both pillars of their community, and feel their reputations would be damaged if it got out they grew cannabis, even though the doctor who signed the "medical marijuana note" has commented on what an improvement he has seen in the patients condition?
